Jon Panner

Sr. Pastor

Jon Panner is the Senior Pastor at Christ Community Church. Jon was born in PA and became a Christian during college at Wittenberg University in Ohio where he also met his wife, Susie. Jon has an M.Div. from Fuller Seminary and a B.A. in English from Wittenberg University.

Jon & Susie have 3 adult sons, 2 who are married, and 2 grandchildren. Jon enjoys sports, running, walking and reading theology and novels.

Joe Nowak

Joe Nowak

Interim Worship Director

Joe is the CCC Interim Worship Director and has led worship at various churches over the last 30 years. He has a BA in Interpersonal and Group Communications from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Il. Originally from the Chicago area, Joe and his wife Lorey have been married for 44 years and moved to Princeton in 2006. They have two children and four grandchildren. Joe enjoys playing and teaching guitar, camping, and riding his motorcycle.

Sheila Johnsen

Sheila Johnsen

Worship Assistant

Sheila is assistant to our Worship Director.  She helps select music for worship on Sundays, plays piano and helps the worship team practice on Wednesday nights.  Sheila has played the piano at Christ community Church for over 37 years. She grew up on a farm one half mile north of Wyanet and is the assistant librarian at the Raymond A. Sapp library in Wyanet.  Reading is a life long love of Sheila as well as music, nature and going to the movies. Her family consists of two daughters, the oldest is Heidi who is married and has three children, while her younger daughter, Lyndsey, is in social work.

Counselor

Meg Murphey is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with Path of Life Counseling at Christ Community Church.  Meg obtained her bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University in Family Social Services and her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College graduate school.  She has worked in residential, hospital and outpatient settings.  She received her passion for counseling during the seven years she spent with Youth With A Mission when God began healing her emotional wounds.   Meg’s heart’s desire is for Christians to experience the reality of God’s grace and truth so they might live an abundant life of peace and joy in Christ.  She is married to her wonderful husband Scott and enjoys swimming, walking, reading, writing, gardening, decorating and traveling.

Office Manager

Carol has been the Office Manager here at CCC since March of 2012. Carol grew up in Sterling, IL and has has been married to her husband, Pastor Cal Zehr, for over 30 years.  Carol and Cal moved to Tiskilwa, IL in 1991 when Cal became the pastor of Willow Springs Mennonite Church. They have 4 young adult daughters, 3 who are married.  Carol graduated from Goshen College and has spent many years working in different positions around Bureau County. She is very involved in her church in Tiskilwa. Carol enjoys reading, water skiing, traveling, and working at CCC!

Meredith Benson

Meredith Benson

Children's Ministry Coordinator

Meredith Benson is our Children’s Ministry Coordinator. Meredith grew up in Colorado and moved to the Princeton area 3 years ago. She and her husband, Kris, have been married for 7 years and have been blessed with two children: Kristoffer, age 6, and Emily, age 5. Meredith has a BSc. in Clinical Integrative Therapeutic Practice and Nutrition from Metropolitan State University in Denver. The outdoors is where Meredith goes to get close to God. She loves hiking, camping, kayaking, rafting, good food and spending time with family. 
CCC has been a family to Meredith after moving away from their own family. She is eager to serve alongside this ministry and help lead little minds to learning God’s big truths for their lives.
