Family Talk: Part 1
In this sermon, we're challenged to examine what it truly means to be a disciple of Christ. The key focus is on John 8:31, where Jesus says, 'If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples.' This isn't just about believing, but about abiding - remaining, dwelling, and living in Christ's teachings. We're called to move beyond mere fandom of Jesus to become true fanatics, completely sold out for Him. The message draws an interesting parallel between sports fans and followers of Christ, emphasizing that God desires more than just our agreement or occasional attention. He wants our whole lives to be centered on Him. This challenges us to consider: Are we truly abiding in Christ's word? Are we allowing His teachings to cover every aspect of our lives like an umbrella shields us from rain? This message encourages us to dive deeper into our relationship with God, not just knowing about Him, but truly knowing Him intimately.
